Banana is one the of the most important commercial food crops in the tropics. Its cultivation  is distributed through the warmer countries & is confined to regions between 30N & 30S of the equator.

In our campus one banana orchard can be found.Some varieties can be found such as sagorkola, sobrikola & plantain.

The banana occupies 1^st&2^nd position in terms of area 7 production respectively among the fruits  grown in Bangladesh. Banana is most important fruit in Bangladesh,comprising 21.96% of the total fruit  production of the country & largely  grows in Tangail,khustia,Ranpur,jessore.
